Course Overview

See what our training course will cover

The Class 3A course allows individuals to drive tandem axle trucks with airbrakes after obtaining their license. A two week course is for the individual with minimal to no experience with large vehicles. Individuals will have more time to learn, understand and feel prepared to drive afterwards.

All class hours are listed are approximations for this course. Students and instructors spend time in the areas that need the most training. 18-Wheels uses a ratio of two students per one unit (2:1) during practical instruction. This allows the students the opportunity to observe as well as operate the equipment.

One road exam is included in the tuition fee. If students need a second test, additional charges for the cost of the exam and use of the equipment will be applicable. Testing takes place on the last day of the course.

Training is available in Regina year round and Moose Jaw from April to Mid-October. Two students are required to be registered for the course to be run in Moose Jaw. One to two months’ notice required to set up course and ensure road exams are available.

The two week course is still a short time frame for training and time lost is hard to make up during the program. Students who miss time for personal reasons, may be required to book more training if needed. If the situation is beyond school control (for example bad weather), 18-Wheels will make every effort to ensure no training time is lost.

Deposits are due three weeks prior to the course starting for Class 3A not at the time of booking.
